WHY CUSTOMERS LOVE IT
Night riding is a lot of fun, but some of the magic is lost when your headlight isn’t up to spec in those dark twisty mountain corners. The Flashpoint High intensity LED headlight solves this with a super bright, wide angle beam to keep you safe and your ride looking trick.
With a High, Low and Running mode while packing serious punch, actually pulls less power and is significantly smaller than the conventional headlight, allowing tighter mounting and a cleaner custom finish.
Best suited to larger café racers, modern street fighters, and Cruisers. The 7” Motorcycle Headlight is the most common manufacturer size across nearly all brands with retro/classic models. Definitely our best selling motorcycle headlight, due to its adaptability and ease of mounting as it suits a lot of OEM factory motorcycle headlight mounts on different bikes. Featuring an industrial design face with prominent fixing screws.

My first thoughts upon opening the box were how impressive the quality is, these lights are beautifully made, then after a simple fitting to the bike I was really happy with the way they attach and look,
But the real joy came when zooming down a dark country road flicking the high beams on, these lights are bright and give me a wide and a long range view which I have never had before, I would recommend the Flashpoint LED by Purpose Built Moto to anyone wanting to see at night and give the bike a unique look.

I ordered the 7″ version w/ indicators for my ’07 Triumph America. My shipment arrived within days (chose expedited shipping) and was in perfect condition (packaging was solid.) I had to do some research for machined parts to mount the light cleanly. In the end I purchased a polished headlight mount from British Customs (fits stock mounting holes) and ordered a machined U-Bracket from Amazon which I drilled out to 5/16 holes (Sentry Supply 656-8202-T T “U” Bracket, For 1 In. Panels.). The bracket quality is much higher than the image and the mount from BC fit perfect once I added a washer to the interior of each side of the mount. The Headlight itself is an item of precision. It modernized the front end of my ride while providing that ‘Mechanical/Machined’ style. The signals are VERY minimal and since they are clear with yellow LED’s they don’t attract attention from the Headlight. As for the function, there is zero comparison between my stock HL and the flashpoints performance. My vision in the dark has increased 3 fold easily and is a much safer and stylish look overall. Thanks to Tom @ Purpose Built for answering all my questions promptly and for designing an A++ product.

Such a cool headlight. John at Roosters CC in SE England did my build. We agreed a budget and then he found this light which pushed the budget up a little. As soon as I saw it I was sold!! Robbed the kid’s piggy bank and although they’re still not talking to me, it was well worth it!! It just makes the bike and works exactly as intended. Well done Tom for such a cool design and thanks for the brilliant customer service and support.

This was a great purchase. I am very impressed with the billet headlight housing. The light itself is about as bright as the space shuttle coming back to earth through the atmosphere. It doesn’t pull very much amperage so it works for my bikes stator. Oh and the beam pattern is DOT compliant so that’s another major perk!

After a little unexepted issue with the French customs which Tom managed perfectly, I was pleasantly surprised by this headlight! Perfect shape on a XSR700

After a little unexpected issue with the French customs which Tom managed perfectly, I was pleasantly surprised by this headlight! Perfect shape on a XSR700, the retro style of the bike mixed with the futurist light makes you feel like the king of the road! The primary headlight looks old compare to that one !
Thanks to all the PBM team and speacily Tom for you help !

A great product from Tom of PBM which we are distributing in the Philippines. Clients and customer review a great percentage of their night riding vision thanks to that built in projector beam oh and not mention about its cool retro round style but with a modern and futuristic approach on the lighting and hardware itself.
We also love the fact that we can customize or have options whether a side mount or a single-post mount will do the trick. Plus a good way to have a pair of those Pbm Led indicicators bolted straight on the side for a clean and minimalist look. Very klever and well thought of products.
Definitely ordering up more soon. Thank you Tom.

Had the pleasure of owning one of these great led headlights for about a month now and all I can say they are a superb piece of kit.
the light they give you is brilliant done more night riding in the last month than I have done in the last 35 years of biking.
Plus Tom gives a 100% service at all times.
Cheers John
Tom –
Amazing to see the headlight has helped you ride more!
Appreciate the kind words john!
Safe riding mate
Lou –
Adrien, can you forward me a picture of our installation.
I also have an XSR700, looking to get rid of the huge headlight bucket…
Thanks
Thomas Golubic –
The build quality on this headlight is excellent, not only does it look great but it performs better. It makes me feel more confident that I am seen on the road while out day or night. I love the look of this light on my cx500 it really tied up the clean, modernized look I was going for. I will definitely keep recommending this light to my mates and people who are looking for a great, quality product. Keep it up Tom I am keen to see what what the future holds for you and Purpose Built Moto.

Received my 7″ headlight last week, after debating whether to wait for the 5 3/4″ So glad I went with the bigger unit.
Made some custom brackets to mount it to the front end of my XSR700. Sweet tucked in look! Much more pleasing than the stock headlight bucket! Tom helped out on email and encouraged me to build my own brackets.
Found an aluminum supplier in town and bought some 3/16″ scrap and after some cutting and filing, sanding and painting. I am stoked!
Thanks Tom!!!
Tom –
Glad to hear you made your own custom brackets mate! Good on you for having a go.
Tyler –
Love this headlight! Excellent quality and support from Tom which both are very important to us as a custom motorcycle shop.
Will continue to use their products! Awesome work PBM!
Tom –
Thanks so much for the review Tyler. Looking forward to seeing more of your builds. I’m a fan!
Chris –
What an awesome headlight. Such an amazing upgrade from the stock headlight on my ducati monster. It took me longer to pull the old headlight than it did to install this one, it was just so simple. This thing pumps out so much light it’s just unreal. My only complaint is that since the beam cut off is so sharp (which looks amazing) when I’m deep in a corner it doesn’t illuminate very far up the road due to lean angle. Pretty sure this is a problem with all headlights though.
Tom –
Thanks for the feedback Chris. Always looking for an honest review to help us keep improving!
I would suggest adjusting the headlight though, it sounds like you have it pointed a little low.
Diego –
This headlight was a great upgrade from the stock headlight on my Ducati Scrambler. The beam is a lot brighter and more focused. It illuminates close to as much as my car’s projector headlights. Will definitely purchase another one if the need arises (i.e. another bike project). In the future, some headlight accessories like a matching mini fairing or protective grill that easily bolt on would be cool.
Tom –
Thanks Diego, The scrambler grill is a great Idea!
Joshua Quinto –
This headlight was an interesting fit on a stock XSR700. Took a few hours to mess around with positioning + positioning of the indicators but the end product is marvelous. I wasn’t in the camp that thought the stock headlight was ugly by any means, but after installing this one the difference is like night and day. Highly recommend this especially at the criminally low price point.
Tom –
Really appreciate your feedback josh and good to see that you werent put off by a bit of custom work to make it your own. All to often we see people who dont want to get their hands dirty and fit the headlight up, instead choosing a direct bolt on!
Thanks Again
Mark Price –
Bought one of these to replace the massive headlight on my XSR700. Easy to wire in, looks outstanding and is very bright. What more do you need?
Carlito Escobar –
I wanted a BIG headlight to throw on my bastard FXR. I wanted something that didnt scream I live in 1979 Harley Davidson land. I got this thing. Man it’s bright as hell and really keeps me from looking like another Vtwin douche. Thanks, Tom and Purpose Built Moto. These parts and amazing. Solid finish, built like a tank and really stand apart.
Andrew Sefton –
Great light delivered very quickly. Heaps brighter than the standard one on my Moto Guzzi V9. So good at night that I bought another for my wife’s SWM Gran Milano.
Joe OBryant –
I love my headlight, it’s gives my XSR700 the cafe racer look I was wanting. The light is super bright, I can almost see at night with my tinted visor. Shipping to the US with covid took a few weeks but was worth the wait. Highly recommend!
Tom –
Thanks Joe, the 7″ really works well on the XSR700 builds. thanks for using our products.
DaveO –
Awesome headlight – this should be standard on Harley 1200 Roadster – 2019 bike.
First off installation was a breeze, and looks awesome. I was pleasantly surprised shipping was painless, and fast even with this Covid situation on-going. I thought it was going to take 6 months to receive, only took a week and a half once shipped.
I ride much more in the night now than before, the headlight is bright as heck, and I’m able to see the road much better now.
The headlight is beefy, and not some flimsy trashy part, but well built, sturdy, and a very deserving upgrade to my bike.
I’m picky as heck about doing upgrades, and mods to my bike, I’ve seen a lot of horrible upgrades. But this is one that I really like, I’m ecstatic that I purchased, with zero regrets.
I’m pretty sure, I’m going to be a repeat customer to Purpose Built Moto, for sure.
It caught my eye the first time I noticed it on Pinterest.com.
THANKS – TOM (Purpose Built Moto)
Thanks,

Appreciate the feedback Dave. thanks for choosing PBM!

Out of the box the first thing I realized was how impressive the build quality of the headlight is, super solid. I love the halo running light, it is such a cool look. The headlight’s brightness is also impressive, super bright at night and plenty bright in the daytime. I’d buy from Tom and the gang again in a heartbeat. Thanks PBM.
Tom –
Thanks so much for your feedback Ryan. Servicing riders like you is what keeps us goin!
Oleg –
May I ask a question?
What is the power consumption in amperes at 13.5V for low and high beam.
Tom –
Hi There,
The LED has a total consumption of 40W, which means the power draw will be in the area of 3A
Alexander –
This headlight is really mint, straight out of the box.
It’s super sturdy and the build quality is impressive to say at least. The finish feels exclusive.
Swapped out the original headlight on my XSR900 (installed on the original headlight mounts). More or less plug & play, with some minor adjustments.
Note that if you replace the original headlight (on XSR900) you can’t use the headlight bucket so the cabling behind the headlight has to be either hauled back under the tank, get a custom bucket or seal all connectors and tuck them behind the light.
I did seal all my connectors with vulcanizing tape and neatly fixed them behind the light. Looks great!
Tom –
Thanks for the feedback Alex. Appreciate your review, If anyone else wants a bit more info for the install of the LED headlight on your XSR900 or XSR700

I ordered the 7″ flashpoint LED headlight for a bmw k1100LT cafe build. Australia post lost my package, but the amazing customer service team at PBM was very responsive and tracked down my package. When it arrived, I was amazed at the quality of the headlight. It was also very easy to install and looked so badass! Aside from the amazing looks, this thing is very bright and while I try to avoid riding at night, this headlight makes riding at night feel like riding in the daylight! The only downside of the headlight is feeling like you have to clean the bugs off it all the time because it looks so damn good!
Tom –
Happy to hear it, thanks for supporting PBM!

A mate of mine was waxing lyrical on the Flashpoint LEDs and bigging up Purpose Built Moto big time. Now the thing is, he knows his stuff, so of course I was interested. After months of saving up my beer cash, I received a shiny new headlight and had it installed for me. Perfect timing, as my stock headlight on my XSR700 was playing up and riding became dangerous. Not anymore! These are seriously killer lights! So damn bright! I went from feeling like a choir boy to Arnie on the asphalt. The quality is awesome and they look the goods. A girl even asked about my lights, which is refreshing compared to the usual random bloke asking how big my engine was. Best purchase I ever made on my motorbike besides the bike itself! Thank you Purpose Built!
Tom –
Arnie on the Asphalt! thats a new one haha. Glad our LED headlights did the job on your bike Mr. Universe.

The 7 inch Flashpoint LED was fitted to my custom built Indian Bobber. Tom and the crew took my Bobber Twenty in for some major work. This light is a tasteful addition that enabled a complete tidy up and minimalization of the front end. This, accompanied by the bullet indicators gave the bike a sleek look that fitted the Bobber look. The light looks superb and the functionality is faultless.
Couldn’t be happier with the light and the entire project.
Here’s what PBM created for me; https://youtu.be/ofR073HMHTQ
Thanks again PBM for creating what I think is the most unique custom Indian Bobber 20 going around……..it was worth every cent.

Gratification every time I look at it, it really transformed the bike and was everything I hoped for. Delivery was fast, build quality is solid, overall, it was a great buy and worth every cent.

Currently have a flashpoint light on my Grom build. Quality is top notch!! Visibility has increased and the look totally adds to the bike. Thanks again
Tom –
Would love to see a pic of your GROM build with our LED Headlight Dave!

I bought this light for my 2015 mod bmw R9T.
The long trip from Aus to Colombia justified the great change in lighting and visual aesthetics of the bike. Very satisfied with this modification. Highly recommended site for shopping and beautification of our bikes.
Matej –
I bought this last year. It came fairly quickly, considering it was an epidemic season and it traveled from Australia to the EU. I had some problems with homologation (they tend to complicate for custom build-ins in my country), but the customer support of Tom and Marta was really nice and helpful. The headlight came out as good as expected and my expectations were high.
Jacob –
I thought I’d ask this here to help others. What gauge are the wires? I’m planning on running the halo into the low beam using a posi-tap connector and knowing the gauge would be helpful.
Tom –
Posi tap connectors are no good over time, they’ll often cause issues down the line.
Always use good quality crimp joiners or solder joins
Jacob –
Tom – in that case, I think I’ll just add a female bullet connector to the DRL line from the factory turn signals. Is it a 3.5mm bullet, or 3.9?
Jacob –
Got my light today and mounted it up to my XSR700, here’s my review. TLDR: Very good.
What I like:
It looks fantastic, and the quality of the frame/housing is very high. It was easy to wire up, and I was able to use the factory brackets without drilling by using 8mm to 6mm thread reducers. Really fits the look of the XSR and adds visibility.
What I dislike:
The quality of the actual LED light inside the housing is consistent with the inexpensive LED lights you’ll find on amazon or ebay. However, given the low overall price and very high quality, cnc-machined housing, this is reasonable and expected. Mine has an anomally in the low beam pattern near the center-right.
There’s a stray bit of light coming up and off at an angle. Not a huge issue on the road, but when it’s shining on something up close it’s quite noticeable.
When I got it, the LED was rotated about 5-10 degrees clockwise in the housing. This was hardly an issue – by removing the face plate bolts, the light can be easily repositioned. This also gave me the opportunity to add a little blue threadlocker.
A few notes:
The connector for the running light is a flat blade rather than the bullet shown in the photos. I added bullets.
If you have an XSR, when you cut the factory brackets, a paint marker makes touching it up super easy. These are your best friend for scratches and dings on black powder coat/paint.
Like I said above, using thread reducer adapters is a lot easier than resizing a hole from 6mm to 8mm. This is very hard to do properly with a drill, and most of us don’t have a set of reamers laying around.
Grab a couple rubber washers to place between the headlight and the bracket. Protects the finish and reduces vibration.
If you use the factory XSR brackets, they’ll bend in a little when you install the light as it isn’t quite as wide. This actually proved to be a good thing as it acts like a lock washer, helping to hold the headlight in the correct position.
Overall, it looks great, and the quality to price ratio is high. Just a couple very minor QC things. Still absolutely fabulous. Thanks Tom!
