HONDA CBX1000 CAFE RACE

The legendary 1981 Honda CBX1000 packs a six-cylinder engine that sounds like nothing else on the road. Purpose Built Moto gave it proper café racer bones with upgraded suspension, clip-on bars, and a custom seat to sharpen its handling without taming its character.

SIX CYLINDERS OF CAFE RACER

The Honda CBX1000 is a legendary machine, renowned for its monstrous six-cylinder engine and high-speed touring capabilities. However, in stock form, its size and weight make it less nimble than other bikes, especially in tight corners. It’s a powerhouse built for straight-line performance but lacking the finesse of a proper café racer.

Purpose Built Moto stripped the CBX1000 down and rebuilt it with a sharp, custom café racer look and improved handling. The front and rear suspension were upgraded to better manage the weight and power of the six-cylinder engine, providing greater cornering control. A new PBM Stainless Muffler System replaced the bulky factory exhaust, giving the bike a more aggressive tone and enhanced performance. For visibility and style, a Flashpoint LED Headlight was installed, along with Hollow Tip Indicators to keep things clean and modern. Clip-on handlebars and a custom seat setup give the bike a proper café racer stance, turning the touring beast into a nimble, road-ready racer.

With these upgrades, the CBX1000 now offers the best of both worlds—raw engine power paired with agile handling and striking looks.
