After years of sitting partially dismantled and poorly stored, this 1983 BMW K100 finally found its way to Purpose Built Moto for a complete ground-up rebuild. The tired brick received a full engine refresh with upgraded internals, modern running gear, custom 17” wheels, Aprilia forks and brakes, a K1100 swingarm and cantilever monoshock, before we turned our attention to the styling. A custom subframe, hand-fabricated radiator shrouds, shortened single-seat tail and PBM lighting and controls gave the bike a sharper, more purposeful silhouette, finished off with a nostalgic BMW M-inspired colour scheme and brushed aluminium detailing. It may have taken three years to get here, but the finished K100 is a completely transformed machine with a street presence that’s hard to ignore.
