Pushed into the Garage in pieces from a farm in Queensland, this DT400 came out with a heap of upgraded parts and custom pieces while still keeping the rustic battle scars its earned through a hard life off road.
From top to tail This Vintage Motocrosser received the Purpose Built Moto treatment, Upgraded 12v Magneto, Our Slim push button switches and LED indicators. The tail was custom fibreglassed and built to hold the quick release rego plate + indicator assembly and integrated LED tail lights.
The tank and Seat have been left original which gives the bike a qwerky but distinct look while staying true to its haggard and beaten personality.
After a complete top end rebuild this DT400 scrambler is more than a handfull, delivering endless fun on and off road.

I think so, I cant rememebr exactly but there’s always some custom fitting work to be done.
Hey Mate,
To simply remove rust you can use a vinegar solution, or if the rust is quite substantial, we use a KBS gold standard liner kit.
It cleans rust and puts a liner through the tank to seal it.
Love this build! Did you have to machine the head tube to make the new triple clamp fit up as nice as it did?
I have a 78 DT400 but I can’t find a new gas tank. Did you restore yours cuz I assume it was rusty inside. What product did you use?
