Looking to easily modify your bike? Our headlight mounting kits make the process incredibly simple, especially for front-end conversions on cafe racers with USD (upside-down) forks replacing the traditional style.

When it comes to modifying motorcycles, simplicity and quality are key. Purpose Built Moto’s headlight mounting kits for upside-down forks (50-55mm) are designed with these principles in mind, making them ideal for high-performance bikes and for riders or builders who have swapped out their traditional forks for the modern, wider diameter USD forks.

That's where our headlight mounting kits come in. Our kits are engineered to fit the broader 50-55mm diameter of USD forks, ensuring a snug, secure fit that can handle the rigours of demanding rides. The minimalist design means the mount won’t distract from your bike’s aesthetics, allowing the headlight to be a subtle yet striking feature. Built to withstand vibrations and impacts, these mounts ensure your headlight remains steady during high-speed or night rides, maintaining a clean, streamlined appearance with a sleek and professional finish. We also provide detailed blogs and guides for easy installation, whether you're a seasoned builder or a DIY enthusiast.

This is not an exhaustive list! We recommend double-checking your fork size to ensure a perfect fit. Visit our website for the complete compatibility list and to find the perfect headlight mounting kit for your classic.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO DOUBLE CHECK YOUR BIKE BEFORE PURCHASING. SOMETIMES GOOGLE WILL NOT HAVE THE ANSWER AND YOU WILL NEED TO MEASURE. (Yes, we are saying it twice...)

Measuring Inverted Fork Diameter on a Motorcycle

Knowing the diameter of your inverted forks (USD forks) is important for replacing parts or finding compatible upgrades. Here's a quick and easy way to measure them:

Tools:

  • Vernier caliper or Tape Measure

Steps:

  1. Locate the Forks: Your motorcycle's front suspension components will be the two thick tubes – those are the forks. (Shown in the Photos)
  2. Measure the Top: Open your caliper and carefully slide it around the outer diameter of the fork tube, just below the top triple clamp.
  3. Measure the Bottom (Optional): Inverted forks are often tapered, meaning they might be slightly wider at the bottom.

Important Note:

  • Measuring at the top is usually sufficient for most purposes. However, if you suspect significant tapering or need the most precise information, taking a bottom measurement can be helpful.

Additional Tips:

  • Refer to your motorcycle's service manual for the exact fork diameter specifications.
  • If you're unsure about any step or have difficulty measuring, consult a mechanic for assistance.
