The use of thicker aluminium allows for a completely clean design without any visible ribs, rolls or flanges, while still remaining light and strong. With a set of mounting ribs unique to the Purpose Built Moto design that allow cleaner and easier mounting options than any other option.
Our very own mounting design has been developed over years of mounting the cleanest and best fitting motorcycle fender we could fabricate. Suitable for mounting on 16″, 17″, 18″ and 19″ rims and tyres mounted high for scrambler applications or low and tight for cafe racer style. just wanted to Thankcyou for the great service and your accessibility for advise on fitting the Front Fender/Mudguard.
I have been looking at replacing the stock plastic guard for some time but have avoided the mass produced products from SE-MOTECH and Rizoma as once fitted they just blend in as if stock. Then I came upon Purpose Built Moto and bought your Fender through online shop.
This product really stands out, well thought out, reinforced with alloy ribs for drill and tapping, and best of all, was in ‘unfinished’ alloy. For my bike, this
Fender fits to the exact profile of the stock forged alloy fork bridge/brace. I’ve attached it in reverse to recommendation with the 2 x braces facing front and the single to rear. Fixing was taken care of with 2 x countesunk head M8 x 18mm gal machine screws, screwing into tapped threads in the fender, leaving 1-2mm only protruding from underside, smooth as.
Finishing is brushed (first attempt) and looks fantastic. The fender has that rare quality of NOT looking like an ‘accessory’ but instead a ‘custom Built’ and very individual part. I will but a single stay to the rear from the disc brake housing from Purpose Built Moto in-line store in the near future. The fender also sports a rubber mud flap to enhance the custom appearance. (Countersunk Head M6 screws still to be fitted in the attached photo).
In a very easy mod I’ve also placed 15mm spacers under the guard mounts to lift the guard off the wheel a bit. Basically 4 x spacers and 4 x 15mm longer M8 cap head bolts.
A fantastic and unique front fender product from Purpose Built Moto due to the reinforcing welded in straps allowing for 6mm deep screw thread taps, and the 3mm overall fender thickness provides a solid fitting.

No pre-drilled holes makes for flexible mounting options.
