It's been a busy start to 2024 and there hasnt been much time to take a breath, so I wanted to take a moment to give you an update on how things are going here at Purpose Built Moto. We’re building a community of motorcycle enthusiasts so it's good to keep you all in the loop with how we are going. It's been a busy and exciting year so far, and I’m stoked to share some highlights and insights with you.

Tracking Progress

Things are tracking well for us. We’re ultra-busy with custom builds right now, and we’ve pretty much booked up all of 2024 and most of 2025. While we haven't had much time to develop new products, rest assured, we always have a few things cooking in the background. Our online store has had a couple of big changes to make life easier for you. This year we're focussing on getting out to attend more shows and events, meeting local riders, builders and enthusiasts.
its not easy when we're stacked to the roof with builds that need doing but an important part of keeping in touch with our community.

Wins

We've had some significant wins in the first half of the year:

  • Royal Enfield Collab Build: We were stoked to be chosen to collaborate with Royal Enfield on a custom build. This project is shaping up to be something truly special and is a huge win for us because its a Motorcycle Manufacturer Sanctioned Build.
  • Speedway Build: Our ongoing speedway build continues to make great strides, and we're excited to see the final result.
  • XT500 Series Release: Our ultra-popular XT500 series bikes have been a huge hit. The feedback and support from the community have been incredible.
  • Choppageddon Sydney Awards: We attended and the Choppageddon show Sydney , taking home a few gongs for Best Japanese and Best Panhead Chopper.
  • Latest Product Releases: We’ve also released some new products this year. The new Omni Lights and Brake Fluid Reservoirs have been popular with riders all over. Always nice to get great feedback on products we've been working on for a long time.

Challenges

Of course, no journey is without its challenges. One of the biggest hurdles we've faced was the 1951 Royal Enfield project. Building a bike that had been underwater while pulled down and arrived to us in boxes was no small feat. Going through 70 year old parts diagrams and vague manuals isn't the most fun thing in the world but we've been making steady progress and turning it into something special.

Lola the Shop Pit Bull and barketting manager has also been a major distraction around the shop. Now at 24kg (40 lbs for our US friends) she's been running around the shop like a hairy wrecking ball of late, and if you put a rubber grip in her reach, it wont be in one piece for long

Exciting Upcoming Projects

Looking ahead, there are plenty of exciting projects on the horizon:

  • New CB400 Four Build: We’ve confirmed a new CB400 Four build, and we can't wait to get started.
  • CBX1000 Project: We loved the CBX1000 build from a few years back, and so did our latest customer. We should have another mighty 6 cylinder honda in the shop in a few weeks time to get started.
  • Ultra-Secret Electric Bike Project: Lastly, we’re working on an ultra-secret electric bike project set to be released this summer. Jump on our newsletter list to be kept up to date.

Short and sweet I know but it’s been an incredible year so far. Sometimes I get too busy to appreciate just how far we've come. You can keep a closer eye on what we're up to through our social media. Thank you all for your continued support and enthusiasm. We couldn't do it without you. I gotta get back to work.

Cheers,

Tom
