GS550 Border Run
Based on a 1981 GS550E Katana, with upgrades all round, my personal rider.
A purpose built cafe racer with the intention of short, quick rides out over the local Gold Coast hinterland and over the border. This Suzuki started it all for me, it was built before I even had my own workshop. I would drive an hour each way just to work on it, a true labour of love. The 1981 GS550 was used as a base, with updated suspension all round and a Ducati Rear end put to use.
The Border Run cafe racer features all of Purpose Built Moto's prototype products. The muffler, handlebar switches and LED indicators were designed for use on this bike and people liked them, so i started producing them for sale. The tank has been modified along with the rear subframe and the engine Blacked out with the use of some copper details. Aluminium rear sets, a custom throttle, 4-2-1 Stainless steel headers and a handmade seat all shown in this truely unique custom bike build
